The ultras, associated with the banned CPI (Maoist), laid down arms before senior officials of the Jharkhand Police, Jharkhand Jaguar and the CRPF, among other security units. “Twenty-seven Maoists, wanted in a large number of cases, surrendered before the police under ‘Operation Navjeevan’. Kolkata: BHIM Payments App, developed by NPCI BHIM Services Ltd (NBSL), has witnessed over 289% growth in transaction volume on its platform in Bengal in FY26, and the company’s broader business strategy includes reaching out to more feature phone users in the state.During FY26, 71% of transactions on the app in the state were P2M (peer-to-merchant) payments, indicating growing use for routine purchases and bill payments.
