Varanasi: Cyber Police Station of Sonbhadra district on Thursday arrested two persons for sharing and uploading child pornography videos on social media. Information about child pornography/videos uploaded on social media was received through the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) portal operated by ministry of home affairs and Cyber Tripline system, which flags child pornography and information related to child sexual abuse to law enforcement agencies via the NCRP portal. Kolkata: The Union home ministry has extended the deployment of 500 companies of central armed forces (CAPF) in Bengal till June 20 to maintain law and order amid concerns over post-poll violence and tensions in sensitive areas.The Bengal govt, in a May 16 letter, had sought continuation of the central forces till end-Oct 2026. New Delhi: Two passengers, who arrived from Riyadh at Delhi airport, have been booked for trying to smuggle gold concealed inside chocolates. A total of 396 grams of gold was recovered from them.Officials said they arrived at IGI Airport on May 17. “During screening at the Green Channel, both passengers were diverted for X-ray examination of their baggage. On scanning, suspicious images were noticed inside the chocolate packets carried by the passengers. Bengaluru: In a major relief to SC/ST students admitted under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, the Karnataka govt has directed schools to extend their quota up to class 10.The move follows an announcement by chief minister Siddaramaiah in the state budget on March 6.
