Patna: The Patna University (PU) senate on Saturday passed a Rs 498 crore deficit budget for the 2026-27 financial year during a meeting chaired by vice-chancellor Ajay Kumar Singh.The budget will now be sent to the state govt for inclusion in the annual state budget.Presenting the budget, dean of students’ welfare Kameshwar Pandit said the university estimated expenditure at Rs 535 crore against an income of Rs 36 crore from various sources. Jaisalmer: Three camels were killed after a train hit them while crossing the railway track near Sagra village in the Lathi police station area of Jaisalmer district Friday night. One camel was trapped under a train compartment, and the train remained stranded for 25 minutes, causing inconvenience to passengers. The train was dispatched only after the remains were removed. According to information received, the Jaisalmer-Jodhpur passenger train departed from Lathi railway station Friday night and was heading towards Jaisalmer when it hit the camel herd near Sagra village.
