Prayagraj: At least six people including three members of a family were killed and three others injured after severe thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning, winds and rains, swept through the Prayagraj region on Thursday night. The storm caused widespread destruction and significant damage to buildings and infrastructure.The casualties included four deaths in Kaushambi and one each in Prayagraj and Pratapgarh districts. Bhubaneswar: Higher education department has begun the admission process for Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme (AEDP). Applications are open on SAMS portal until June 10.The AEDP is intended to combine classroom learning with practical industry exposure, as National Education Policy (NEP) emphasises skill development and improving employability.For 2026-27, the AEDP is available in 11 subjects: commerce, home science, economics, history, English, zoology, mathematics, library science, chemistry, geology and botany.The department said that students will undertake a one-year apprenticeship with stipend in the third year of the course under the programme. Vehicles pass through a waterlogged road at Bahadurpur Housing Colony in Patna on Friday Patna: The Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO) on Friday deployed drainage machinery and personnel across the city to tackle waterlogging after early morning rainfall, using the exercise as a pre-monsoon trial run, officials said.All 91 drainage pumping stations — 56 permanent and 35 temporary — were placed on 24×7 alert.
