Davanagere: Former MLA Yajman Mothi Veeranna, 89, died here on Saturday following age-related issues. Veeranna, who was fondly called ‘Yajman’ for belonging to a landlord family, represented Davanagere constituency as a Congress MLA in 1989 with a margin of 29,000 votes. He unsuccessfully contested as a JD(S) candidate in the 2004 elections. Seventy students fell ill after consuming mid-day meals at a school in Madhepura MADHEPURA: As many as 70 students fell ill on Saturday after consuming the mid-day meal at Upgraded Middle School in Karu Tola of Sahugarh village under Madhepura police station in the district.
