Bengaluru: A 31-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing gold ornaments and silver articles from the house of his aunt’s employer five months ago.The complainant, a single parent and resident of Thyagarajanagar, told police that around 250g of gold ornaments and 2.8kg of silver items kept in a cupboard in her daughter’s room went missing. The theft came to light on Oct 22 last year. Chennai: More than 130 crows were found dead across several zones in south Chennai in recent days and disposed off by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC). While officials insist the situation is under control, residents in several neighbourhoods allege delays and lapses in safe handling and sanitization. Gurgaon: The Gurgaon Traffic Police has fined a total of 2,099 auto-rickshaw, e-rickshaw and taxi drivers for operating their vehicles without wearing uniforms. According to officials, despite repeated awareness drives conducted across major intersections and busy traffic points in the city, a significant number of drivers were still found violating uniform rules, prompting authorities to initiate strict legal action. The data released by the traffic police shows that between January 1 and January 31, 2,099 challans were issued specifically for uniform-related violations, resulting in penalties amounting to Rs 14,74,500.
