Thiruvananthapuram: The state govt has amended the rules to unify the operating hours of bar hotels across Kerala, ending the differential timing that was in force between notified tourism centres and non-tourism areas. With the amendment, all bar hotels in the state can function from 10am to 12 midnight. The amendment was notified, bringing the revised norms into effect. Until now, in 74 tourism centres notified by the excise department, bar hotels were permitted to function from 10am to 12 midnight. In other parts of the state, the timing was from 11am to 11pm. Kolkata: A consensual sexual relationship turning acrimonious does not constitute rape merely because it has not resulted in marriage, Calcutta High Court has held.The HC on Monday quashed a criminal case against a man accused of raping a woman, whom she had promised to marry but later backed out, and forcing her to undergo an abortion. NEW DELHI: Parts of Delhi and Noida witnessed light rain on Wednesday morning, a day after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast drizzle and a slight dip in daytime temperatures.The IMD had predicted overcast skies accompanied by light rain and issued a yellow alert for the day in Delhi. BENGALURU: A 70-year-old man who was attacked allegedly by his son with a baseball bat over a property dispute died while undergoing treatment in a hospital Tuesday morning.The victim, Munikrishna, a resident of Doopanahalli in Indiranagar, was a retired BMTC conductor. The accused are his elder son, Mohan Kumar, and younger one, Gajendra.The assault happened between 10.15pm and 10.30pm on Feb 14. Chennai: Tiruvallur Pocso court sentenced a 27-year-old man to 22 years of imprisonment to be undergone concurrently for kidnapping and raping a 16-year-old girl.
