Nagpur: Kolkata-based Super Smelters, which finalised a proposal within seven days and signed a memorandum of understanding for a Rs10,000 crore steel plant during the Advantage Vidarbha event on Thursday, plans to set up a 2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) capacity steel unit at Gadchiroli. Hazaribag: An elderly farmer, who was on his way to Hazaribag town to sell vegetables, died after his bike was rammed by a speeding tractor on Friday. The incident took place near the Luta Railway Overbridge under Katkamdag police station limits. Gorakhpur: The Uttar Pradesh govt is developing a large Kanha Upvan in Gorakhpur to strengthen management of stray cattle. The facility, coming up at Tal Nador along the Gorakhpur–Varanasi highway, will be the biggest cow shelter in the district and will be able to accommodate around 2,000 cattle at a time.At present, Gorakhpur has 34 functional cow shelters, including the Kanha Upvan at Mahewa under the municipal corporation, with a combined capacity of about 5,000 cattle.
