Hazaribag: An elderly farmer, who was on his way to Hazaribag town to sell vegetables, died after his bike was rammed by a speeding tractor on Friday. The incident took place near the Luta Railway Overbridge under Katkamdag police station limits. The victim was identified as Vasudev Mahto (65) of Pakrar village under Katkamdag block. Kolkata: A 68-year-old Kulpi woman’s death on Thursday after suffering a cardiac arrest prompted her family to blame the SIR process. Asma Sardar, of Nagnon village, was a pensioner. She lived with her only son, Rakib, who is a person with disabilities. According to Rakib, the 2002 list had the name Asma Sardar, but with her documents saying Asma ‘Bibi’ instead, a notice was served. Relatives claimed that Asma had almost stopped eating since.
