Jaipur: Henna products from three companies claiming to use the famed Sojat mehndi allegedly failed quality tests and were found adulterated during state health department sample inspections conducted between Jan 15 and Jan 31, raising consumer concerns.Sojat and nearby regions are historically known for superior henna with strong colour and consistent quality, but the health department’s campaign has cast a shadow over products marketed as Sojat henna.The health department said samples of ‘Pushp Henna’ from Pushp Henna Pvt Ltd were noncompliant with established quality standards and showed no traces of lawsone pigment, the key element responsible for henna’s staining properties.M/s…
Rajkot: City Cyber Crime police arrested a 22-year-old student from Madhya Pradesh for his alleged role in a “digital arrest” scam that stripped a retired court worker of more than Rs 88 lakh.Devansh alias Kano Joshi, a third-year BCA student from Dewas district, was held after a complaint by 69-year-old Dinesh Delwadiya, who retired as an assistant clerk at the Rajkot sessions court. Surat: Varachha police have booked five persons, including a 51-year-old diamond company manager, for allegedly abetting the suicide of 44-year-old Seema Vaghani.According to the complaint filed , the deceased was subjected to domestic harassment and dowry-related demands by her husband, Sunil Vaghani, over the past 25 years. Kolkata: Three city residents lost more than Rs 5 crore in investment frauds in the past 72 hours. One person was arrested by Kolkata Police in this regard.In the first case, a 63-year-old New Town resident was allegedly cheated of Rs 2.1 crore after being lured into a fake stock trading scheme operated through WhatsApp groups.
