Lucknow: Sitapur emerged as UP’s worst malaria-hit district in 2025, reporting 3,643 cases, nearly 25% of the state’s 14,593 infections, and the only malaria-related death, according to the latest National Centre for Vector Borne Disease Control (NCVBDC) data.Hardoi recorded 1,481 cases, followed by Shahjahanpur (1,179) and Pilibhit (707). Lucknow ranked fifth with 676 cases, including 573 indigenous and 103 imported infections.
