Lucknow: Sitapur emerged as UP’s worst malaria-hit district in 2025, reporting 3,643 cases, nearly 25% of the state’s 14,593 infections, and the only malaria-related death, according to the latest National Centre for Vector Borne Disease Control (NCVBDC) data.Hardoi recorded 1,481 cases, followed by Shahjahanpur (1,179) and Pilibhit (707). Nagpur: A committee headed by the additional commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will probe complaints of erratic door-to-door garbage collection across the city and examine allegations of irregularities in waste handling and billing.The panel, constituted by Municipal Commissioner Vipin Itankar, has been tasked with reviewing the performance of the city’s two sanitation agencies, Antony Waste Handling Cell and BVG India.
