The higher education department is set to commence promotion under the career advancement scheme (CAS) which was due on Jan 1, 2025. A memorandum issued by the department said teachers, librarians and directors of physical education and sports of state-aided universities will have pay revision. Mumbai: Bombay HC granted limited protection against demolition by BMC to a three-storey school building in Govandi. Justices Makarand Karnik and Shriram Modak on Tuesday posted for July 20 the hearing of a petition by a trust that runs the school and directed BMC not to demolish it until then. New Delhi: A day after a school bus ran over a 12-year-old girl in Majlis Park, Delhi Police said on Wednesday that on-the-spot challans issued to school buses for traffic violations rose by nearly 45% in the first six months of this year compared with the corresponding period last year.According to Delhi Traffic Police’s data, 1,644 on-the-spot challans were issued to school buses between Jan 1 and June 30, 2026, up from 1,138 during the same period in 2025 — an increase of 506 challans.Improper or obstructive parking accounted for the bulk of the violations, with 1,379 challans in 2026,…
Bengaluru: Groww parent Billionbrains Garage Ventures reported a 94% year-on-year jump in net profit to Rs 735 crore for the June quarter, driven by strong growth in newer businesses, including margin trading and commodity derivatives.Revenue rose 63% to Rs 1,549 crore from Rs 948 crore a year earlier, while total expenses increased 25% to Rs 556 crore.Groww’s margin trading book, which represents funds lent to customers to buy shares, more than tripled to Rs 3,775 crore during the quarter.
