Kanpur: A dispute involving alleged casteist remarks between two women employees at a private bank in the Panki area of the city led to separate complaints, with one party expressing willingness to compromise and the other insisting on filing an FIR.On Thursday, police called both parties for discussions. Ritu Tripathi who attended the discussion told police that if Aastha Singh apologises first, she is ready to withdraw the complaint. Aastha Singh told the police that since she was subjected to misconduct and her image was tarnished, she will file an FIR. Police said they may record statements of the bank staff in 1-2 days and are awaiting CCTV camera footage.Aastha, a woman employee at the private bank in Panki, posted a video that went viral on social media 5-6 days ago. Two days later, her second video surfaced in which she narrated the incident, and said the video is of January 6, 2026, and that she was subjected to misconduct, to which she reacted. After her video, a video of bank employee Ritu Tripathi also emerged, in which she made serious allegations against Aastha Singh and bank officials. After the videos went viral, discussions were rife.Aastha filed a complaint at the Panki police station on Wednesday, while Ritu Tripathi filed a complaint on IGRS. Panki police station in-charge Manoj Singh said both were called for discussion. He said Ritu Tripathi came on Thursday and stated that if Aastha Singh apologises, she is ready for compromise. Aastha wants action in the matter and said her image was damaged, Singh said. Complaints were received from both parties and an FIR will be filed on officials’ directions, he added.Police said CCTV footage was requested from the bank’s Mumbai headquarters, and staff statements will be recorded in one or two days.
