Kanpur: A video featuring Ritu Tripathi, who had a dispute with Aastha Singh at a private bank, emerged on social media on Wednesday in Kanpur. In the video, Ritu Tripathi responded to Aastha Singh and asked for public support. She introduced herself, saying she was both a Tripathi and a Mishra, and claimed she was insulted by Aastha Singh, a Thakur, and faced threats and abuse. Despite this, she chose not to make the video viral.
Ritu said she did not wish to gain fame through false viral videos and expressed pride in her Brahmin heritage. She appealed for support, emphasizing her identity as a Brahmin from Kanpur. The conflict led Aastha to release her own video, in which she claimed she was questioned loudly about her caste at the bank and that derogatory language was used against her. She said an argument with Ritu’s sister escalated when Ritu’s husband later visited the bank, turning into a full-blown dispute. Aastha mentioned threats of her removal from the bank and accused others of trying to frame the issue as caste related. The incident gained attention after a video from a private bank in Panki, Kanpur, surfaced, showing a heated exchange between the two women. Aastha was seen making a statement about her Thakur identity, which went viral, leading Ritu to come forward with her version of events.
