Pune: Sant Tukaramnagar police are looking for an autorickshaw driver who is on the run after thrashing a passenger and the latter’s father following heated arguments over the fare.The incident happened on March 15 in Vallabhnagar, Pimpri. The 69-year-old victim approached the area police and lodged a complaint the next day.Sub-inspector Rishikesh Kamble of the Sant Tukaramnagar police said that on March 15, the complainant, his son and daughter-in-law booked an autorickshaw through a cab aggregator and reached home in Vallabhnagar. After reaching the destination, the autorickshaw driver asked for more fare from the complainant. “The complainant and his son had heated arguments with the auto driver. The driver all of a sudden took out a wooden plank and started thrashing the complainant’s son,” Kamble said.The officer said that when the complainant tried to intervene, the accused thrashed him too. He punched the complainant and pushed his daughter-in-law before driving away from there. “The complainant came to the police station the next day and lodged a complaint against the autorickshaw driver,” the officer said. He said that the complainant has mentioned the autorickshaw’s registration number in his complaint. “We are searching for the autorickshaw driver,” he said.
