New Delhi: A caretaker has been arrested for allegedly sedating the family she worked for with sleeping pills and decamping with cash in outer Delhi’s Paschim Vihar East.The family made a PCR call on Feb 26, claiming the caretaker had fled with Rs 30,000-40,000. There was a 59-year-old woman ill at home, for whom she was hired. It was her first day at work. She served lunch, after which almost everyone fell unconscious. “She was traced to Bareilly and nabbed on Feb 27,” said DCP (outer) Sachin Sharma.
The woman told police she had worked for a woman in Noida who consumed sleeping pills. She stole six pills from her and mixed these in the food. But a child in the house refused to eat, and an elderly woman could not sleep. She saw the woman opening an almirah. The caretaker fled after that.tnn
