Calangute: Seven tattoo shops on the Calangute beach promenade and a restaurant in Khobravaddo were sealed by the Calangute panchayat on Friday for illegal activities and operating without valid permissions.Calangute sarpanch Joseph Sequeira said the panchayat has also taken a resolution to shut down three wholesale liquor stores on the promenade to stop tourists drinking on the beach.The panchayat had also received complaints that the shops and their touts were harassing tourists and cheating them of huge amounts of money with false promises and offers of illegal activities, tarnishing the reputation of Calangute.The sarpanch added that the drive would continue.
