NOIDA: A 55-year-old woman died under mysterious conditions on Yamuna Expressway on Sunday morning.A resident of Delhi’s Harsh Vihar, Pushpa Sharma was travelling from Delhi to Vrindavan, along with her family members, by a bus when she allegedly suffered a heart attack in Greater Noida’s Jewar and later died.Police suspected Pushpa suffered the heart attack — while pushing the bus that broke down due to some battery issue — and later fell on the road, in which she received head injuries.Passengers were pushing the bus from behind to start its ignition, police said. Police got the information from other passengers. They took Pushpa to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her dead. SHO Sanjay Kumar Singh said that on the complaint of Sharma’s family members, a case of causing death by negligence under the BNS was registered at Jewar police station against the driver, who is absconding. The bus has also been seized.A senior police officer said that around 2.30am, Sharma received injuries while “alighting” from the Lucknow-registered bus. Police are also working on a theory that she sustained minor injuries initially, but as a truck was also parked nearby and there was little space between the vehicles, she panicked, fearing she might be run over.A police officer said, “The exact cause of death will be ascertained in the autopsy report.”
