Rajkot: A 43-year-old married woman living on 150 Feet Ring Road in Rajkot has filed a police complaint at University police station against her brother-in-law, accusing him of sexual harassment and stalking over seven years.The case has been registered under Sections 75(2) and 78(2) of the BNS Act. According to the FIR, the harassment began about seven years ago when her husband’s sister and brother first visited her home.The woman said her brother-in-law first looked at her in an improper way during that visit. She kept the incident to herself at the time but alleged that his behaviour grew worse over the years. She said that after her husband left for work, he would wait outside her home and follow her when she stepped out.She later told her husband about the issue. He arranged three family meetings to settle the issue but the woman said the behaviour did not stop. She alleged that the harassment reached its height when he grabbed her hand, spoke to her in an improper way, forcing her to become his “friend”.She said she put up with this for seven years. Haresh Patel, police inspector at University Police Station, said, “An approximately 50-year-old man has been booked for molestation. Police launched an investigation and are searching for the accused using both human intelligence and technical surveillance.”
