Gumla: Lohardaga police on Saturday recovered the body a man who hanged himself after killing a teenage girl by slitting her throat in a forest under Serengdag police station limits late on Friday evening. Jainath Oraon (18) killed Malti Kumari (16), a resident of Bishunpur in Gumla, with a knife in Dundu forest. Malti, a class X student was returning after attending a fair. “The girl was returning along with her friends and as they all had almost came back to their village, boy got enraged over some matter with the girl and instantly slit her throat, rendering her dead on the spot,” Ramashish, officer-in-charge of Serengdag police station, said. Ramashish said upset over killing Malti, Jainath retreated to his village, entered an adjoining forest patch and hung himself from a tree. “There could be a love affair which led to disagreements,” he added.
