Kanpur: The body of an 18-year-old girl was found hanging from a neem tree outside her house in Gahakheda village under the Auras police station area of Unnao. The incident reportedly occurred early Sunday morning. Upon receiving the information, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. The deceased was a class XI student at a local school. When her family members saw her body hanging from the tree, they broke down. Hearing their cries, villagers from the surrounding area also gathered at the spot. After being informed by the villagers, the Auras police station team immediately reached the scene. Police brought the body down from the tree and took it into their custody. Police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. At first glance, the case appears to be one of suicide. However, police said that the actual cause of the girl’s death will be revealed only after the post-mortem report comes in. “If any suspicious circumstances emerge during the investigation, further legal action will be taken accordingly,” police said.
