Mumbai: Almost a year after it was inaugurated, the BMC has introduced an option of booking a monthly pass for locals visiting the elevated walkway at Malabar Hill. This Elevated Nature Trail, inspired by Singapore’s Tree Top Walk, is a first-of-its-kind project in Mumbai. The cost of a monthly pass is Rs 750 for locals and is valid for one person to visit once in a day only. A BMC official said, “Monthly passes will benefit those locals who may want to use it for their daily walks. We now have also started receiving requests for the space for conducting film shoots. The space can accommodate a total of 200 people per slot. Immediately after its inauguration, we even had 250 coming per slot, which has now reduced to around 100 per slot. However, on weekends there is still considerable demand.”The entry fee for a day is Rs 25 for Indians and Rs 100 for foreigners. The facility is open from 5 am to 8 pm, with a total of 16 slots available daily. A maximum of 3,200 visitors are allowed per day. The trail spans a total length of 485 metres with a width of 2.4 metres and includes a sea-viewing deck, offering a dedicated spot for panoramic views of the sea. It features a wooden elevated walkway designed with wooden railings and support columns, reinforced with steel for added strength.
