They also announced the names of 13 more candidates, including Soma Thakur from Bagda seat.
According to the list, Shyamal Hati will contest from Howrah Dakshin, Girija Shankar Roy from Natabari and Ashutosh Barma from Sitai.
Uttam Kumar Banik will enter the fray from Magrahat Purba, Debangshu Panda from Falta, Debashish Dhar from Sonarpur Uttar and Ranjan Kumar Paul from Panchla.
BJP had released its first list of 144 candidates and it included several prominent leaders such as Suvendu Adhikari from two seats Nandigram and Bhabanipur; and Agnimitra Paul from Asansol Dakshin. The party had fielded candidates across multiple districts including North Bengal, Murshidabad, Hooghly, Bankura, Purulia and South Bengal regions.
The second list included candidates across north Bengal, including seats such as Mekliganj, Dhupguri, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong and Darjeeling, along with constituencies in Murshidabad and Nadia. The party had also fielded several SC/ST candidates in reserved seats, signalling a continued focus on social coalitions in the region.
In it’s third list of candidates, mother of the RG Kar rape-and-murder victim, Ratna Debnath’s name figured in the third list of 19 candidates released by the BJP.
