Vadodara: The city unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has begun gathering feedback from party workers and collecting biodata from aspirants seeking to contest the upcoming Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) elections. Hundreds of hopefuls and party members turned up to meet the party’s appointed observers.Anticipating a large turnout, the party organised the feedback exercise—referred to internally as taking the ‘sense’ of workers—at four party venues across different parts of the city. The process, which began on Wednesday, will continue till Thursday.Feedback from 12 election wards was taken on the first day. Sources said hundreds of party workers expressed interest in contesting the polls. With the state unit yet to issue detailed guidelines on candidate selection, the number of aspirants remains unusually high.Sources added that the process ran behind schedule as observers had to interact with a large number of party members from each ward. The observers will compile their findings in a report to be submitted to the state leadership.
