Guwahati: After the Booth Vijay campaign that aimed to strengthen direct contact with voters, Assam BJP begin a 12-day-long ‘Jana Ashirvad Yatra’ from Feb 28 from the Gupteswar temple located on the bank of Brahmaputra in Sonitpur district.CM Himanta Biswa Sarma told the media on Thursday, “The yatra seeking blessings from all segments of the society across the 126 assembly constituencies will take place in three phases. First phase will be from Feb 28 to Mar 2. The yatra will be halted on March 3-4 for Holi festivities and will resume from March 5 and continue till March 10. There will be a break again from March 11-14 due to PM Narendra Modi’s visit to the state. The yatra will then begin from March 15.”
During the yatra, the CM said party workers will travel across constituencies seeking blessings from the people of all segments and will also inform them about the work the BJP-led govt has done in the last five years.”Meanwhile, BJP’s chief spokesperson Kishore Kumar Upadhyay said BJP always begins work with the blessings of the almighty. “Earlier, BJP began many rallies or began many works after offering prayers at the Kamakhya temple in Guwahati or similar prominent temples. This time, the party has decided to begin the Jana Ashirvad Yatra after taking blessing from Lord Shiva at the Gupteswar temple.”
