Navi Mumbai: BJP MLA Manda Mhatre from Belapur constituency has been hospitalised after suffering a mild cardiac arrest on Tuesday past midnight. Her son rushed her to Apollo Hospital in CBD-Belapur after she complained of severe chest pain and breathlessness, when she was at her bungalow in Agroli village, Belapur.A source at Apollo Hospital informed that the patient, MLA Manda Mhatre, was brought to the emergency unit around 2.30 am. She was admitted to the ICU, where her ECG report was abnormal, suggesting a mild cardiac arrest. Hence, immediately, she underwent an angiography procedure that diagnosed narrowed or blocked coronary arteries. After seeking consent from her family members, her angioplasty was carried out with placement of two stents. Thereafter, she was kept under observation for more than 24 hours, and currently her health parameters are stable.MLA Mhatre’s son Nilesh said, “My mother’s health is in good condition after the medical procedure and she is under the care of a doctor’s team with experienced surgeons at Apollo Hospital. The doctors have advised her complete bed rest for some days, when she will be under observation round the clock.”Deputy CM Eknath Shinde spoke to MLA Mhatre on a video call and enquired about her health. He told her to take good rest and, after complete recovery, get back to her political field with more vigour and that he was waiting for her to work together for the betterment of society, thus encouraging her by boosting her morale.
