Bhagalpur: The Bhagalpur district administration has stepped up preparations for CM Nitish Kumar’s proposed visit to the district as part of his Samriddhi Yatra. The CM’s programme is scheduled at Baijani in Jagdishpur block on Tuesday.Bhagalpur DM Nawal Kishor Chaudhary said on Sunday that although the official programme is yet to arrive, the CM’s visit on March 17 is “100% confirmed”. The CM is scheduled to continue his Samriddhi Yatra covering 18 districts over the next 10 days between March 17 and March 26.In view of the proposed programme, DM Chaudhary, SSP Pramod Kumar Yadav, deputy development commissioner Pradip Kumar Singh, Bhagalpur municipal commissioner Kislay Kushwaha, city SP Shailendra Singh and SDO (Sadar) Vikas Kumar, along with other officials, are inspecting the ongoing works including the pandal, stage and product showcasing stalls at the designated public interaction site in Baijani.Considering the likelihood of a large crowd, officials reviewed arrangements for security, drinking water, toilets, barricading, parking, traffic management and helipad construction at the school ground in Baijani.Officials are also reviewing cleaning and painting work at the primary, middle and plus-two high school in Baijani and inspecting the site where Nitish will lay the foundation stone for a marriage pavilion under the Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Mandap scheme.The CM will also inspect the integrated development of a large pond in Baijani carried out under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan aimed at restoration and rejuvenation of public water bodies.“We are closely monitoring the arrangements around the venue and giving necessary directions to officials,” the DM said, adding that special attention is being paid to security, crowd management and public facilities to ensure the event is conducted smoothly.
