BENGALURU: A man was arrested for allegedly setting his partner and her parents on fire after she refused to give him her two-wheeler, police said on Monday to news agency PTI. The accused, identified as 32-year-old Panduranga, a resident of Nandini Layout, reportedly went to the home of 27-year-old Sumalatha, a domestic help, in Tarabanahalli and demanded her scooter. When she refused, a heated argument broke out, and her parents intervened. According to police, Panduranga allegedly poured petrol over Sumalatha and her parents in a fit of rage and set them ablaze before fleeing the scene. Neighbors rushed the injured family to a hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment. A case has been registered at Soladevanahalli police station under sections 109 (attempt to murder) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the accused was arrested on Sunday, officials said.
