Gandhinagar: Chief minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday chaired a meeting of the state cabinet, where he asked officials of various departments to begin creating draft govt resolutions (GRs) and draft tenders for schemes and projects announced in the 2026-27 budget. Spokesperson minister Jitu Vaghani said, “The chief minister proposed an important administrative reform by instructing the CS that preparations for implementing current and new matters should begin immediately, without waiting for the budget to be passed in the assembly.”The chief minister also asked secretaries of each department to compare and review various schemes of the Govt of India and the Govt of Gujarat and rectify any discrepancies so that citizens can benefit from the schemes, Vaghani said. The govt spokesperson said that the CM approved 23 land allocation proposals for various boards and corporations at the cabinet meeting. Allocation of over 1.22 crore square metres of land to the Water Supply Board, GETCO, Gujarat Maritime Board, and Gujarat Power Corporation for various projects was sanctioned, he added.
