Nagpur: Maharashtra revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Monday, in a broader political context, condemned the escalating confrontations between party workers in Maharashtra. Referring to a recent clash between NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) workers and members of the Chhava Sanghatana, he said, “No one should fight their battles on the streets — whether they are Ajit Pawar’s men or activists from any other group. These are ideological battles, not street-level showdowns. Such marketing-driven tactics disturb law and order and are not acceptable in a progressive Maharashtra.”Commenting on Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut’s remarks in connection with a purported honey-trap scandal, Bawankule said, “What Raut is hinting at appears to support the narrative of Congress leaders like Vijay Wadettiwar or Nana Patole. If he truly had evidence, he would have presented it either in the Assembly or to the media. Instead, it looks like an attempt to confuse the public and inflate his own TRP.” He also weighed in on senior leader Eknath Khadse’s latest attack on BJP’s Girish Mahajan, calling it a targeted campaign. “Just being associated with someone doesn’t mean you’ve committed a crime. I too have many associations — does that make me guilty of anything? I advise Khadse to stop these repeated accusations,” Bawankule said.
