Coimbatore: The city police on Wednesday arrested another man involved in the murder of R Kasturi, daughter of the founder of Arya Vaidya Pharmacy (AVP). This is the third arrest in connection with the case.The arrested has been identified as Dammer Bahadur Budhu, 26, from Nepal. Police apprehended him in Bengaluru on Wednesday and remanded him in judicial custody. They also seized 30,000 in cash and some valuables, including a vintage watch, from him.City police had earlier arrested two others and seized seven sovereigns of gold, around 80,000 in cash and watches from them. A hunt is on for the alleged mastermind Raju, and his paramour, Surja Rokey, 37, even as a special police team is camping in Bengaluru.Meanwhile, city police commissioner N Kannan said investigation revealed that Raju and three others, had on the day of the crime, rented a private taxi to Nanjundapuram. He told the driver that they were going to vacate a house, and stayed with him in the car, while the other three went inside the house with the help of Surja, who was working as a domestic help at the deceased’s house. After looting the house, all five including Surja, left for Bengaluru in the same taxi. Raju gave some money to his aides, after which they split up and went in different directions. Police have advised people hiring housemaids and drivers to collect their identity cards and verify if they have any criminal records, before employing them.
