Rajkot: Bhaktinagar police have arrested a 33-year-old auto-rickshaw driver following a complaint by a 45-year-old woman, who alleged prolonged sexual assault, violence and threats over the past four years. The complainant, living separately from her husband for two decades, approached police after a recent incident in which she suffered a fractured finger.As per the FIR, the two first met at a religious site, where the accused gained her confidence by initially refusing to charge her fare. He later visited her residence and allegedly raped her, recording a video that was subsequently used to threaten and coerce her into continued exploitation.Police said the accused repeatedly intimidated the woman and forced relations during this period. After the latest assault, she sought help from social organisations before filing a complaint.Police inspector M M Sarvaiya said the accused was arrested on Wednesday and booked under Sections 64(2)(M), 115(2) and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. He added that medical examinations have been conducted and further investigation is underway.
