Chikkamagaluru: The forest department on Thursday launched an operation to rescue a tusker that allegedly killed a man near Balehonnur in the district. Six elephants from Sakrebail Elephant Camp in Shivamogga district and Dubare Elephant Camp in Kodagu were pressed into service for the operation. There are three elephants in the region, triggering panic among the villagers in Kandya Hobli.
