T’puram: State human rights commission (SHRC) directed the conservator of Agasthyavanam Biological Park to submit a report on whether steps were taken to provide compensation to the family of a mahout who was trampled to death by an elephant at Kottoor Elephant Rehabilitation Centre.The directive was issued by commission chairperson Justice Alexander Thomas in connection with the death of Vishnu, who lost his life after being pushed into water and trampled by an elephant at the rehabilitation centre.
