MUMBAI: Unidentified persons fired shots outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Mumbai’s Juhu area in the western suburbs in the early hours of Sunday, officials said.Following the incident, security around the building was stepped up, an official added. “Someone fired on the building. Kendrapada: A man who had allegedly raped a 19-year-old girl in 2018 in Kendrapada district and had given police the slip for over eight years was arrested on Friday night.The 53-year-old accused, a neighbour of the survivor, was apprehended from his house. “After the heinous crime, the accused fled from the village. Namakkal: Students of a private college at Kumarapalayam here on Friday night protested against the college administration for serving them substandard food at hostel and not providing them basic amenities. Gurgaon: Two daily wagers were burnt to death after a pre-dawn blaze ripped through a plywood and wood-processing factory in Pakhal village of Faridabad early on Friday, leaving the unit gutted and raising questions over safety arrangements.Police said the fire broke out around 2.30am at Dream Private Limited, where large quantities of plywood and other flammable material had been stored.
