Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has granted a one-month grace period to shops and commercial establishments to comply with fire safety norms, while warning that strict enforcement will follow once the deadline ends.Addressing shop owners and representatives of traders’ associations at a review meeting, HYDRAA commissioner AV Ranganath said the temporary pause in sealing establishments was in response to requests from traders seeking time to implement safety measures. “This is a one-time opportunity. Chennai: Owing to easier question papers and relaxation in qualifying marks, the number of aspirants clearing the Tamil Nadu teacher eligibility test (TN TET) increased by four times this year over the previous time. According to data from the teachers recruitment board (TRB), of the 4,24,317 candidates who appeared for both papers, 1,50,703 candidates cleared the test. In the previous test conducted in 2022, 36,973 candidates had cleared the exam.Of 92,417 candidates who appeared for Paper I, 45,469 candidates cleared it and the pass percentage was 49%. Ahmedabad: A 26-year-old youth from Gandhinagar district was recently discharged from KD Hospital after a satisfactory recovery from Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF), which has a global mortality rate of 10-40%. Experts said that the condition is relatively rare, and timely intervention is the only way to reduce mortality.A report on CCHF by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), published in Oct last year, put Gujarat among the states with a high occurrence of CCHF across India.
