Mumbai: Service of notices for revenue hearings via email will soon be legally valid. The state cabinet on Tuesday approved a proposal to amend Section 320 of the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code. Once the amendment is carried out by the legislature, a notice sent to the party’s officially registered or provided email ID will be deemed to have been legally served.The amendment was proposed to avoid frequent delays owing to non-receipt of notice, incorrect or untraceable addresses, or refusal to accept the notice, often resulting in repeated adjournments.
