Even though hate crimes in the US decreased by 7% in 2025, as recorded by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), anti-Sikh hate crime incidents increased by 24.6% compared with 2024. Patna: Bihar’s growing population is demanding more milk, but the state’s livestock numbers are moving in the opposite direction. Preliminary findings of the 21st Livestock Census, conducted in 2025, show the population of milch animals has fallen by nearly 10%, while milk production has declined 2.61% over the past five years.According to official sources in the animal resource department, the latest census reverses the trend recorded in 2019, when cattle, buffaloes and goats had increased by 2% to 25%.
