Mohali: In a bid to strengthen monitoring of drinking water quality and support urban local bodies across Punjab, the MC is set to establish a state-level water quality testing laboratory at the Sector 79 Water Works.Sharing details with the MC House on Monday, mayor Amarjit Singh Sidhu said that the local govt department does not have its own water quality testing laboratory. Rajkot: In a major step towards water conservation in the semi-arid region of Kutch, the district revenue department successfully formalised 910 previously unregistered ponds and natural water bodies spread across 281 villages.The initiative launched after a group of environmental activists published a report in 2023 highlighting the rapid disappearance of water bodies in Bhuj. Surat: A sessions court sentenced two brothers to life imprisonment for murdering two young men during Ganpati immersion celebrations in 2016. Thiruvananthapuram: The vigilance and anti-corruption bureau (VACB) gave a clean chit to Congress leader V S Sivakumar in a disproportionate assets case, concluding that he did not amass wealth beyond his known sources of income.
