New Delhi: Only electric N1 light goods vehicles (LGVs) will be allowed to be registered in Delhi from Jan 1, 2027, and from July 1, 2027, in the high-vehicle-density districts of Gurgaon, Faridabad, Sonipat, Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar, Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) said Wednesday. Ahmedabad: Twenty-two years after Reserve Bank of India halted fresh licences for new urban co-operative banks following the Madhavpura Mercantile Cooperative Bank (MMCB) scam, Gujarat could see new entrants in the sector with the central bank’s proposed licensing relaxations.The 2004 ban was imposed after the MMCB crisis, in which depositors lost savings estimated at more than Rs 1,000 crore. Guwahati: Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition filed by accused Siddharth Sharma seeking transfer of the trial outside Assam in the case related to singer Zubeen Garg’s death.In May, Gauhati high court rejected Sharma’s bail plea, citing “possibilities of influencing witnesses, hampering further progress of the case and high possibilities of fly away” if released on bail.Sharma, Zubeen’s manager, is among the seven accused arrested in connection with the case and is currently in custody.
