Ahmedabad: Fuel prices were increased for the third time in less than 10 days, taking petrol prices in Ahmedabad close to the Rs 100-per-litre mark amid rising global crude oil prices and firm international fuel trends. State-run oil marketing companies revised retail prices with effect from 6am on May 23. Petrol price in Ahmedabad increased by 85 paise per litre from Rs 98.38 to Rs 99.23, while diesel price rose by 94 paise per litre from Rs 94.19 to Rs 95.13. Prayagraj: In a major push towards eco-friendly infrastructure and improved passenger amenities, North Central Railway (NCR) has initiated the process to set up electric vehicle charging stations at major railway stations across its jurisdiction. NCR has floated tenders for setting up charging points at five stations in the first phase, with e-auction scheduled for May 26.After awarding the work, the facilities are expected to become operational within six months.Under the initial phase, EV charging stations will be set up at Prayagraj Chheoki, Naini, Chunar, Tundla and Mirzapur railway stations. Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has drawn up a comprehensive fire-fighting plan for Unit-I, the city’s biggest retail vegetable and grocery market, aiming to curb frequent fire mishaps that cause repeated losses to traders.BMC officials said underground pipelines would be laid across the market to create a network of hydrant points along internal roads, ensuring quicker access to water during emergencies.
