Tirupur: The Union govt has earmarked a 100% stall fee subsidy for 60 micro and small enterprises participating in the 24th edition of the KnitShow textile technology exhibition, scheduled to be held at the Top Light venue in Tirupur Aug 21 to 23. Dibrugarh: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) on Tuesday commissioned gas evacuation facilities at its Khoraghat Group Gathering Station-1 (GGS-1) in Assam’s Golaghat district marking a significant step in expanding the region’s gas infrastructure. The facility will allow surplus associated natural gas from the Upper Assam Shelf to be processed and channelled into the North East Gas Grid (NEGG), developed by Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGGL).The commissioning comes soon after the Dergaon–Dimapur Pipeline was brought online, a project that extended gas connectivity to Nagaland and linked it to both the North East Gas Grid and the National Gas Grid.…
Mangaluru: Bajpe police arrested two men for allegedly attempting to sell ganja near Polali Dwara on NH-169 on Saturday. The accused are Rakshith, 23, and Akshay B, 23, both from Benjanapadavu in Bantwal taluk. Acting on information, police conducted a raid along the Moodubidire–Mangaluru stretch of the highway at Mulur village. They found the accused in possession of 1.2kg of ganja, valued at approximately Rs 65,000. T’puram: Opposition Leader Pinarayi Vijayan has urged Union Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu to take urgent steps to bring down the exorbitant airfares between Kerala and the Gulf countries.In a letter to the minister, Vijayan said thousands of expatriate Malayalis travelling during the holiday season and ahead of the reopening of schools in the Gulf were facing severe financial hardship. Kolkata: TMC MP Saugata Roy faced a BJP protest at Kolkata airport on Tuesday when he arrived to attend a meeting of the Passenger Safety Committee. Roy, chairman of the committee as the Dum Dum Lok Sabha MP, was surrounded by BJP workers as his car entered the Airport Authority of India office premises.
