Ahmedabad: Residents of private housing societies and premises across Ahmedabad will now have to pay charges for tree trimming and disposal of green waste, with Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s (AMC) Heritage and Recreation Committee approving a proposal to introduce the new fees on Monday.Under the proposed policy, residents will have to pay Rs 100 for trimming trees within private society premises, while Rs 150 per tractor trip will be charged for transporting and disposing of the green waste generated from the trimming. Prayagraj: At least 11 people were killed and five others injured after a massive explosion ripped through an illegally operated firecracker manufacturing unit in the Manauri Bazaar area on the Kaushambi-Prayagraj border in Kaushambi district at 11 am on Monday. Cuttack: The state govt on Monday launched its third Annapurti Grain ATM in Dhenkanal, allowing beneficiaries under public distribution system (PDS) to collect foodgrains round-the-clock.Food supplies and consumer welfare minister Krushna Chandra Patra inaugurated the facility. Gurgaon: A 33-year-old woman suffered back and leg injuries when she fell from the first floor of a paying guest accommodation in Sector 25 while trying to rescue her pet cat on Sunday evening.A fire department official said they received a call around 5:45 pm. While looking for her cat, the woman, Neelam, climbed onto a fibre sheet installed over a portion of the first floor.
