Ghaziabad: Allahabad High Court has enhanced compensation in a 59-year-old land acquisition case from Maharajpur, raising the rate from Rs 1.30 per square yard to Rs 20 per square yard. The case dates back to 1967, when 36 bigha of land was acquired and later became part of the Sahibabad industrial area under UP State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA). Porvorim: Power minister Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar has assured compensation to Chinchinim farmers who recently lost four buffaloes to electrocution.Velim MLA Cruz Silva said that two of the deceased cattle were pregnant and the deaths have caused loss of livelihood to the affected farmers. Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s transport committee, chaired by Mangala Khekre, on Tuesday approved a series of proposals aimed at improving facilities for transport employees, introducing a new religious-tourism bus service and disposing of old buses through e-auction.The committee also cleared a proposal to increase the wages of contractual assistant, maintenance and operation staff in line with the state govt notification dated October 14, 2024. Surat: Chowk Bazaar police have intensified investigation into the murder of 55-year-old real-estate broker Faisal Hasanfatta by registering a murder case. “10 teams comprising Chowk Bazaar police officials, LCB, DCB and SOG have been formed to nab the accused.
