Chennai: A 34-year-old Nepal national was found dead with severe head injuries in Thalambur, near Thiruporur, on Thursday morning. The man, identified as Bahadur, was employed at a private firm near Thiruporur and stayed in a rented house in Thalambur. Police said Bahadur had argued with a woman living nearby on July 28. The woman later told her relatives that Bahadur had misbehaved with her. Berhampur: Researchers at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Berhampur, have developed ‘Cisproplatin’ (CPP), a modified version of a widely used chemotherapy drug, which, they claim, could make cancer treatment safer by reducing some of the drug’s most severe side effects.The findings have been published in the latest edition of the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry in a paper authored by Rakesh Kumar Pathak, associate professor, and Kajol, research scholar at IISER Berhampur’s department of chemical sciences, and other IISER Berhampur researchers.Pathak said that the drug has been successfully evaluated in pre-clinical studies, including mouse models.The IISER team…
