Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre (TNSTC) in the city is organising a math and science talent test this year, open to students of Classes VI-IX from across boards.The test will be held on Oct 4 for math and Oct 11 for science. COIMBATORE: Food safety department officials have temporarily shut hostel kitchens at 13 private colleges in Coimbatore district after inspections over the past two days found violations on every campus checked. They issued notices to the colleges giving 14 days to rectify the lapses.The inspections were ordered by the district collector following complaints about poor quality food in college hostels. Five people have been injured, one critically, in a shooting at Virginia State University which involved multiple suspects, the university has said.Officers responded to the incident outside a residence halls at about 01:28 local time (05:28 GMT) on Saturday.Five individuals, who were all found with gunshot wounds, were taken to local hospitals.
