Jiten Nag from Digboi and former BJP MLA from Doom Dooma Dilip Moran is fielded from Makum, while in Dhemaji, Narendra Kumar Paw has been nominated. In the Barak Valley region, Tapas Das (Udharbond), Fazlur Rahman Laskar (Katigorah) and Shahajahan Laskar (Sonai) have been named.
Congress released its fourth list of candidates which included seven more constituencies. Bidisha Neog has been fielded from Jalukbari against Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Congress with this list gave candidates in 92 seats. Rohit Pariga from Tangla, Jayanta Borah from Biswanath, Dr Joy Prakash Das from Naoboicha , Gyandip Mohan from Mahmora, Pran Kurmi from Titabor and Rahul Roy from Hailakandi. Roy is the son of former minister Gautam Roy. Rahul won from Algapur seat on Congress ticket in 2006.
Congress, Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP)and Raijor Dal have stitched an alliance. Raijor Dal is allotted 11 constituencies. The party will contest Sivasagar, Dalgaon, Dhing, Sissiborgaon, Digboi, Bokakhat, Manas, Tezpur, Kaliabor, Margherita, and Mariani. Additionally, Goalpara East and Gauripur have been designated as “friendly contest” seats, where both parties will field candidates.
AJP is given 10 seats, Left parties three seats and two seats will be contested by All-Party Hill Leaders Conference.
Mankachar MLA Aminul Islam has joined the National People’s Party (NPP) contest from Mankachar constituency. Aminul had left the All India United Democratic Front. NPP named Daniel Langthasa from Haflong and Ganseng B Sangma from Boko-Chaygaon.
BJP released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Assam Assembly Elections 2026, announcing nominees for two constituencies.
Sushri Krishna Saha has been fielded from the Dalgaon constituency, while Jiban Gogoi has been nominated from the Sissibargaon seat.
The party had earlier released a list of 88 candidates. As part of the NDA alliance arrangement, the BJP has allotted 26 seats to its ally Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and 11 seats to Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) .
