NEW DELHI: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) was injured after he and his team were attacked by two alleged burglars armed with a knife during a raid in West Delhi’s Hari Nagar on Sunday.Police said that around 5 am, ASI Vinod, head constable Ravi, and constables Devender and Abhishek from the anti-snatching and burglary cell of the uter district reached a house in Shiv Nagar while tracking suspects wanted in a theft case registered at Rani Bagh police station. The two accused were riding a motorcycle that had been stolen from Adarsh Nagar.According to police, the suspects were in the process of committing a burglary at the Shiv Nagar house when the team intercepted them. During the attempt to overpower the accused, the burglars attacked Vinod and constable Abhishek with a knife. Vinod sustained a stab injury above his right eyebrow.Despite the attack, the police team managed to overpower and detain both suspects. The stolen motorcycle, along with tools used in the attempted burglary, was seized.The accused have been identified as Babloo Singh and Dharam Singh. They claim to be residents of Nangloi, though this is yet to be verified.
