Keonjhar: Chief district medical officer (CDMO) Dr Dhaneswar Sethy has ordered an inquiry into the death of an Asha worker’s daughter who allegedly consumed an expired medicine in Talabaruda village of Banspal block in Keonjhar district.On receiving allegation, the CDMO has ordered today for an detailed probe. The deceased has been identified as Hiramani Naik (11), daughter of Sridevi Naik.Sources said on June 4 evening, the Asha worker’s daughter, Hiramani, and 13-year-old son, Gagan, were suffering from fever. Asha worker Sridevi Naik went to Singpur ANM Centre and brought medicine for her son and daughter and gave it to both of them.After giving two doses of the medicine to the children, they fell seriously ill. Both were first rushed to Banspal CHC before being shifted to Keonjhar district headquarters hospital. There, Hiramani Naik died on Monday morning.The family has demanded strict action against the ANM who gave the expired medicine. The CDMO said the truth would be ascertained after the investigation report comes tomorrow and necessary action would be taken.
